Dear Sarah,

I purchased lufenuron about a month ago after suffering for around four years, beginning around puberty, and have been on the program for about 18 days now. I am getting close to taking the second dose but feel like I am in constant die-off. It seems that all of my symptoms have been worsened, and I'm still waiting for the turn around. Is it at all normal for this to take awhile? I've noticed you mentioned skin problems typically clear up quickly with lufenuron, mine have worsened to some degree, but others have told me that should be expected.

My normal symptoms are as followed:
fatigue
major weight gain
food sensitivities- (possibly)
hormonal problems have been long regulated; but were once an issue
bumpy rashy skin, acne-like, but not acne
dry skin on elbows and around nose
digestion problems- from diarrhea, to literally being constipated for an entire month!
I used to get sores on my scalp but they have diminished
slow healing
TERRIBLE edema- I wake up swollen everyday
sore muscles and quick muscle fatigue
no "zits" so to speak, but bumps that can be popped
my joints get extremely tight
itchy
irritable

SINCE TAKING LUFENURON... I would like to note some slight nausea, but only in the latter part. Around days 16-18.

I am a BLM firefighter and maintain a healthy active lifestyle. I am currently attending Boise State University with a Pre-Med Major. Obviously I have hit some walls with my major due to the lack of help I have recieved from my handfuls of MD visits. My mom has been searching for answers to my ailments for years now, she is an extremely hard working single mom of three. Nothing with these sort of symptoms runs in my family, so when I began to get sick we were extremely caught off guard. After a couple years the other members of our family began to show sypmtoms of their own.. my mom looked for a link between us all and had the water at our house checked (where we have lived for fourteen years.) We have our own well, and the results came back positive for ecoli and coliforms.. My mom believes the constant immune stress due the ecoli in conjunction with anitbiotics caused the breeding ground for candida.. I'm not sure how you feel about a scenario like this?? BUT it in some ways makes a great deal of sense to me.

I will be looking forward to hearing from you!! AND GREATLY APPRECIATE any time and help you can give!! It means more to me than words can express.. and even more to my mom.. who has literally watched all three of her childrens health fall rapidly.

Thank you SOOOO MUCH!!

I am not a doctor, but due to extensive medical literature research I think I know quite a lot about bacterial and fungal infections. Those narrow topics, as well as skin needling, are really my only areas of (relative) expertise outside of nutrition.

In my opinion, none of the symptoms you mention have anything to do with Candida. If you've read somewhere, or heard somewhere that these symptoms could be Candida-related, then the source simply is wrong.

You could suffer from a genetical lack of amino acid synthesis, you could be suffering from exposure to aromatic hydrocarbons, it could be a rare food allergy, it could be all kinds of things but Candida - no. Not a single symptom you mention is even remotely connected to Candida in my opinion.

I'd consult with a GP, who could refer you to a dermatologist, nephrologist etc. Edema could be impaired kidney function.

My best guess is that you've been exposed to a toxic chemical that caused damage to your immune system and organs. I mentioned aromatic hydrocarbons. Perhaps in your profession you've once been exposed to such chemicals?

You should exclude this first in your quest for a diagnosis and cure.

In fact - since you mention that several people in your household have similar health problems, it makes more sense that the source is in your household, not your job.

So I suspect the source to be in the water supply.
Have that well tested for aromatic contaminants - the entire test suite to certify water as potable - not just testing for CFU's but for every harmful chemical that could leech into it from nearby industry etc.

Has the house been tested for toxic mould?
