Hey Sarah,
Why is coffee so bad?
I stopped for awhile but I missed it.
Does one cup really kill 75% of internal flora bacteria? (most humans must have poor immune systems)
You've said its carcinogenic, how big is the risk? Is it closer to charcoaled food or cigarettes?
I eat burnt bits on my G/F toast :P
Hope all is well in your world :)
Thanks again for your guidance,
Cheers soon

I do not recall having said anywhere that coffee kills 75% of intestinal flora. If I have, I must have been very drunk, because it certainly is not true.
The main risk of coffee is its carcinogenicity due to the presence of Acrylamides.
I do not think that risk is very high though - I think it's very low in fact.
However, coffee is in my opinion a quite unhealthy substance. Generally, when in doubt whether a food is healthy or not, taste it in concentrated form.
An orange tastes good. A carrot tastes good. Nuts taste good. A spoon of coffee powder: Not so good :-)

Thanks Sarah :)
The killing of healthy bacteria is something I've read in countless Candida sites.
Sorry that I didn't differentiate that enough from carcinogenic question.
You know cuz I love coffee I'm trying to think of bad things that taste good in natural state by
spoonful hehee.
I swapped coffee in the past for raw organic coco powder but its not the same.
If anyone has any suggestions of a similar taste but healthy alternative to coffee
please let me know.
Your the best Sarah
Cheers soon

Those Candida sites are full of nonsense, none is based on science.
If they can cite published medical articles to back up their claim, you can believe them.
If coffee would be such a strong antibiotic that a cup could kill 75% of intestinal flora, it would be one of the strongest antibiotics on Earth and we should be using it to cure Tuberculosis..
If you like coffee, don't worry too much - my opinion.
