View Full Version : mycelial?

For the past two months, I have had symptoms that I believe can be attributed to a candida infection. I have had body-wide itching, loose stools, and penile yeast infections. These symptoms slowly began after stopping probiotics for a week. I had taken the probiotics two months after taking antibiotics for amoebasis. Over the last year I have taken a few rounds of antibiotics for that problem. Prior to this I had not taken antibiotics. After the last round, I no longer had symptoms of an intestinal parasite so I think (hope) that the amoebas are gone.
I believe I read somewhere on your site that the chronic, mycelial form of candida takes years to evolve. I know that you cannot diagnose someone over the internet, but is it possible, given that I have not taken antibiotics for more than a year or had yeast problem for very long, that my candida is still in the yeast state? Or do the variety of symptoms indicate a fungal infection?
Another question: I have ordered two weeks worth of candida medication from your website. I have read that it can be taken for up to two months. Is it important to take the medication continually or would it be safe to see how it works for me and then order more?
Thank you for your help.

I do not understand why you have been prescribed antibiotics for amoebiasis, because amoebae are not bacteria and antibiotics are not effective against them.
But perhaps it was because the amoebae have caused damage and an opportunistic infection occurred as a result of that.
Common amebicides include Tinidazole and Metronidazole, and especially the latter, when combined with an antibiotic yields a very high risk for Candida infection.
So if you've been treated with a combo of Flagyl (Metronidazole) + one or more antibiotics then indeed you are at great risk for opportunistic fungal infection, because such a combo kills nearly all beneficial flora on the mucous membranes, the skin and in the gut.
There are no hard-and-fast rules for the development of mycelial Candidiasis. It usually develops when a yeast superinfection is ignored for a long time (months to years), but I know of a case where a life threatening infection (with organ involvement) developed in mere weeks.
There are also no fixed rules for how long any antifungal medicine can be taken, it's just that based on what we know of fungal strains' ability to develop resistance to antifungal drugs, that it usually happens after just a few months.
If you think you suffer from an infection bad enough to warrant treatment with medication, you should give it always all you've got, because infections that need medication are in principle potentially life-threatening, otherwise there would be no risk in letting the immune system handle it. If you think you are fighting a serious infection that can move into organs such as the bladder or from bladder to kidneys etc. then not even a million dollars worth of treatment and all the effort and suffering in the world would be too much. In such cases, you need to treat, and treat continuously, until you are cured or as symptom free as you can possibly achieve - also with plenty of sleep and a healthy diet.
I often warn against buying more than one course of Lufenuron because most of our customers have been misdiagnosed with a Candida infection, in my opinion. If you are very sure you have Candida however (visible symptoms such as white sores, red rashes or positive serum antibody tests) then I'd spend my last money on antifungal medicines - and not just on Lufenuron. Candida has the potential to destroy your life, so it should be taken extremely seriously. Serious chronic cases of Candidiasis are in my opinion incurable and that means you will have some problems for the rest of your life, with antifungal drugs only being able to suppress the infection and to weaken the fungus to a level where your immune system can handle it most of the time.

Christian can you describe your penile problems please. I have issues where I have peeling skin under my glans and foreskin area daily sometime twice daily. I have a lot of penile pain. I am also a prostatitis suffer made worse by antibiotics. I have sore tongue issues some days and wake up with an off colored spit. My tongue looks better mid day.
Today I went to the walk in clinic to show my inside elbows and one knee. I have a rash that the doctor said was a fungus. The tops of my feet peel most days as well. I have stopped the candida diet so I believe that may explain my elbows.
Sorry to ask but I have not had any men with the same symptoms or I guess wanting to share. I hope you do as it may help others as well.
Like it was said before I hope other people join in and help others out.
Sarah of you can add your opinion about this fungus on my elbows and one knee that would be great to have another no medical opinion. I skin issues are nothing like what's on google images. Those look pretty severe. However trust me when I tell you I have had my share of pain. My penis pain most times feels like it is in the tissue or surface but other than reddish coloring and peeling rolling slightly moist skin nothing more visual like open sores.
Thanks in advance to anyone and of course Sarah

The elbows and knees are normally the least likely places to develop Candida because they are dry and have thick skin.
So, if you have a fungal infection there, it likely is by a dermatophyte fungus (Trychophython that causes Tinea infections).
Those fungi are in some ways the opposite of Candida - they like it cooler and drier and love thick layers of skin or even the nails.
You could (and should..) try to use one of thoce sport injury bandages that compress and support the joints and tendons, and put a wet cloth with Pythium oligandrum suspension underneath and wear it for eight hours during the day for three days in a row.
Make some new solution every day, and use only 2 grams for a 3-day period (for all knees and elbows).
If it's a fungus, it should greatly improve or even completely cure.
Please keep us up-to-date when you decide to try the Pythium.

Hi Sarah,
My rash was inside the elbows and side of the knee. That and daily after shower peeling of the tops of my feet and daily peeling of skin foreskin area make me pretty scared that this is tissue related. As I said before it looks like nothing I have seen on the internet. The penis is dryer than I think it should. The peeling is not dry but the top layer comes off.
I started lufeneron last night so I will know more in a few more days. I wanted to diet better before starting but this was the time. I have fluconazole and lactoferrin, testosterone 1% and will be taking aspirin and ibprofen.
On another site I heard that walnuts and pomegranate help fight chitin wall as well.
I have one question for you Sarah,,, the candida diet causes fat burning with no carbs. Is that a bad thing or a better idea on the treatment?
I am doing a bag and a half and another bag and a half in two weeks. As I have read more is better than less. I can't find loading instructions for more than 9grams in 3 days. I know it is somewhere.
Thanks again Sarah

Aha - yes, the insides of the knees and elbows is a totally different matter - favorite places for Candida to develop when you alreadu have a semi-systemic Candida infection and your immune response is impaired by the immune-modulating chemicals that the fungus secretes.
In that case, I totally understand your multi-pronged approach and wish you the best of luck. Sleep as much as you can, get a lot of sunshine (no sunscreen - you need to load up with vit. D) and, if you have the option, eat only the best of foods - preferably grown in someone's vegetable garden.
You can simply take more than 9 grams in those 3 days. Lufenuron is non-toxic. However, it would be a waste to for example triple the dose during those three days.
It would be better to take 12 grams in three days and then, a week later, take another 12 grams if you want to doser higher.
As long as you don't eat large portions of high-GI food, there should be bo need for any special diet.
I do not know what would be best, ketosis or not. Very hard to say. Don't do anything that can impair immunity.
I'd say, do not go below your daily caloric requirement during treatment because your body temp. goes down when you restrict your calories and AFAIK, that is not optimal for the immune system.

This is all scary but I have been down so long that I try to find some good sides to most things. So semi-systemic is bad but not the worst right? (hoping) if not please break it to me.
I hate having to ask you but I am in Canada and we have no people here that can help. I have tried. It is worse here with health care because doctors just bill the health card and you never seem to be a real paying person so they feel they don't have to answer too much or respect you since you are not the paying customer.
I better order more lufeneron from you. I am also planning on going to south America to get sun and buy antifungals because it would be hard for a doctor to want to give me them up here. There isn't a medical system that could verify my candida so doctors can't give me them.
I will take my fluconazole in a day or two. Then in Latin America I will take another.
So semi-systemic is bad but it could be a whole lot worse right?
Thanks for your care Sarah. You are a real important person to people that suffer from the hands of the medical community.

Ok I just read up on semi-systemic and it is far from good. This is terrible.
I remember when it hit me. It felt like a flue and I was not myself at all. That must have been the breach or the mutation.
Funny thing on day one I have no pain. It's like the fungus went into hiding because it know the lufeneron is coming for it. I know this is early but I am pain free today. I also have more energy. Anyway loading again with avocado and bacon.
I am so sad. Not a good feeling.

Yes, when candida becomes semi-systemic (deeply entrenched inside the tissues of the mouth, colon etc. in its mycelial form) it usually starts with a strong fever similar to severe influenza.
I know cases where people were in bed for weeks due to the fever and exhaustion.
The good news is that there is hope - although nearly incurable, you can slowly improve with antifungals and taking care of your immune system.
It seems that if you manage to keep the fungus at bay (prevent it from encroaching further) for a few years, that your immune system will eventually manage to keep the fungal load back to a level where you are most of the time symptomless or near-symptomless.
Without any medication. So you have to endure those few years, battling it with antifungals and lots of rest. The biggest danger to somene like yourself is a single night of bad sleep. That can set you back one year of treatment.
Avoid lack of sleep at all cost.
But diet and excercise have little to contribute in this. It's mostly antifungal medication and immune system boosting that counts.

I remember the feeling October 31st 2010. I was down for a few days.
Today is day 3 and I load again tonight. I feel hot and sweaty. No die off yet. I expect to faint like I did on fluconazole.
I read that antifungals are to be treated for maybe a
Year. Yikes.
Sarah can you just get your phd? ;)
I will post as the days go on in hopes of helping someone else
And opening discussion.
Cardio workouts don't burn fat right so I can play sports right while loading?
As you stated before some fruits should be avoided maybe like tropical?
Thanks Sarah I am sure I will have more questions for you soon.
Much appreciated

I don't remember saying that some fruits should be avoided..
Any physical activity burns fat when there is insufficient glycogen in the muscles and liver, but that is rare - only when you're water-fasting for at least 14 hours (incl. the night).

G whiz Sarah there is a lot to know. So workouts are not the best thing to do while loading or post load I guess. ?
I am confused. Anyway I feel I owe you so much. I don't mean to be awkward but I have had so much neglect from doctors. The one that gave me 8 weeks of cipro says my pain is all in my head. Yikes. Now I am babbling.
The fruit thing is in the Atkins diet writing. But again all very confusing to a simple man. I need to learn more about sugar spikes and high glycemic foods like fruits. I know you say there are only good because of the fiber.
On a note I am in severe pain today. Day three before loading again. Not sure if it is from bad diet, low immune or an early die off. I will be taking some strong pain killers which I am sure are not good for me in this condition.

Fruit has been greatly overrated in the past by nutritionists but nowadays, some nutritionists have a much lower opinion of it.
I think that fruit intake should be modest, because it's basically glorified sugar water, intended for animals such as bears to get so fat that they can survive the winter in hibernation, or for birds to satisfy their enormous caloric demand when they migrate to the south in Autumn.
Some fruits contain useful minerals though, such as bananas.
The #1 problem fruitarians have is bad teeth. Just don't overdo it, with fruit. They're mainly empty calories.
Except when you're so physically active that your weight is low and stable.
Another exception is when you are active and eat fruit out of a private garden. Non industrially grown fruit has much more trace elements and other beneficial substances.
Supermarket fruit is something I'd generally avoid and replace by salads.
A widespread myth for example is that oranges are full of vit. C. They are not.
